A Los Angeles–based production designer working across music, live performance, and commercial environments. Her work centers on world-building—creating immersive & story-driven spaces.
Her work spans a wide range of styles, but her approach stays consistent. Arae likes finding what makes each world its own and then pushing into the details that make it feel committed to its own rules.

Years of repeat clients and collaborators speak to the way she works. She’s resourceful, calm under pressure, and a big believer in filmmaking as a team sport. Arae loves the giant puzzle of putting a project together—the creative, technical, and logistical pieces all working toward the same idea. Teamwork makes the dream shoot!
Over time, Arae’s role has expanded beyond the physical set, often brought into early creative conversations, pitching, and visual development to help keep the project aligned from concept through execution.
Arae has worked across live events, performances, experiential design, permanent installations, commercials, music videos, editorial, and narrative work. That range, paired with international experience across VFX, post, lighting integration, rigs, and practical effects, has given her a wide and adaptable design vocabulary.
She produces her own renders and previs, often working live with directors and cinematographers to light and lay out spaces, plan complex shots, and explore the overlap between physical design, lighting, effects, and post.
Her work has taken her across Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Cleveland, Portland, Reykjavík, Cape Town, Seoul, Paju, Johannesburg, and Bogotá.
When she’s not designing, she’s probably outside—hiking with her dog, gardening, hosting dinner parties, or planning her next trip. An avid hiker and gardener, Arae has lost a few plants along the way (RIP)—and learned that even the biggest ambitions are still built step by step.
She believes great design should feel lived-in, intentional, and—like the best kind of story—a little magical.
