about arae
Arae Webner is a Los Angeles–based production designer and creative director working across music, live performance, and commercial environments. Her work centers on world-building—creating immersive, story-driven spaces that feel tactile, intentional, and emotionally grounded.
An avid hiker and gardener, Arae has lost a few plants (RIP) along the way—learning that even the biggest ambitions grow step by step, day by day. That philosophy carries into her design practice, where she loves building worlds from the ground up, deep-diving into every detail and thoughtfully shaping each project from concept through execution.
Years of repeat collaborators speak to her ability to elevate ideas beyond execution. Arae thrives when fully immersed in a project, pulling layered references and developing clear design bibles that support camera movement and narrative. Known for her collaborative leadership and calm problem-solving, she brings clarity to complex builds and helps ambitious ideas feel achievable.
Arae produces her own renders and previs, often working live with directors and cinematographers to light, lay out spaces, and plan complex shots. She is especially drawn to the intersection of emerging technology and practical design—where digital tools meet something tangible and in-camera.
Her set-design work spans industries, from music videos and visual albums to global tour visuals, brand campaigns, and live installations. She has worked across Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Cleveland, Portland, Reykjavík, Cape Town, Seoul, Paju, Johannesburg, and Bogotá—adapting her approach to each environment while maintaining a consistent, story-forward perspective.
When she’s not designing, she’s probably outside—hiking with her dog, gardening, hosting dinner parties, or planning her next trip. Her life feeds her work, and her work feeds her love of storytelling.
She believes great design should feel lived-in, intentional, and—like the best kind of story—a little magical.
